Lawrence "Kris" Parker is a New York MC who formed the seminal hip-hop group Boogie Down Productions with DJ Scott La Rock. After their 1987 debut album Criminal Minded was released, La Rock was murdered, leading KRS-One to change the lyrical direction of the band towards more socially aware themes.
